Make sure that materials used in the frame are acid-free or inert, such as acid-free card, unbleached cotton, glass, Perspex.
Any wood (e.g. the moulding of the frame)should be sealed with three coats of a suitable acrylic varnish such as Dacrylate 103-1 available from Clifton Paints.
Make sure the medal is held securely in a padded surround. I will post instructions on making a soft mount support for small items.
Think about where the frame will be displayed - in a case or on a wall? The medal ribbon will quickly fade and become brittle when exposed to light.
